Helping Your Child with Math
To help your child do well in math, the most important thing you can tell your child when they ask "Why do I have to learn math? When am I ever going to use this?" is "You may never use it. But that's not the point. You need to learn it because learning it will create college, career and scholarship opportunities for you that you may want later." Repeat it as often as necessary. Then require that they put in the work required to earn a top grade--even if it's above and beyond what the teacher requires.
