Parent Summit 2018 presentations standing room only

The Family Engagement Office presented parents with the Family Engagement Pyramids of Support in a fun and dynamic way.

The Family Engagement Office was out in full force Saturday, Oct. 27, at the San Bernardino County Parent Summit 2018, with two packed presentations, one on "Building a Bridge to Hope," which covered four different family engagement programs, and another in Spanish, "La Piramide de Padres Para el Exito Estudantil," which covered how families can best support their children emotionally and academically.

Family Engagement Office collaborates with Secondary Education on PSAT awareness campaign

The Family Engagement Office collaborated this year with the district's Secondary Education department to bring awareness to the PSAT and to encourage students to do their best. Efforts are underway to help students and parents understand the results when they are released in December.

Dads and men through out the district took their children to school and read to students on September 28 as part of the nationwide Million Fathers March (  Thanks to all our SBCUSD men for stepping up to promote education.

Welcoming Resource Center has grand opening

Though it's been business as usual for a few months for the departments located the Welcoming Resource Center, the SBCUSD community (including the Family Engagement Office), celebrated the center's grand opening in style, September 25, with several notable community leaders, a catered lunch and a tour of the various departments. The WRC is located at 781 W. 2nd St. in San Bernardino.

The SBCUSD Family Engagement Office celebrated its amazing group of parent volunteers at an appreciation breakfast at San Bernardino High School's Family Engagement Center, February 22. Parents Erika Delgado de Ramos, Erika Gonzalez and Blanca Pelayo were given beautiful red Family Engagement Center shirts in recognition of their outstanding service.

We’re moving, adding team members and building a new website!

The Family Engagement Office will be moving shortly to its new home on 781 West 2nd Street, San Bernardino, CA 92410. The phone number will be the same as our current phone number: (909) 880-4057. We will have all of the services and support you have come to expect in our new location.

Joining the Family Engagement team are three new members: Karen Seward, Marco Spears and Raul Marmolejo. They will be working through our Family Engagement Centers to expand services to our students and families. Working with schools and families to raise strong, vibrant children is their vision.

Finally, we're creating a new and improved website so parents will have all of the information they need to help and support their children all in one convenient and easy-to-use location. (Please be patient while we transfer the information you want and need between the old site and the the new site.) Our new website home is located at or go to the SBCUSD homepage and click on "Parent Resources" or the "Parents" icon.
