Thinkwise Credit Union will officially adopt Bonnie Oehl Elementary School on Wednesday, February 27, 9 a.m., at a special ceremony at the school.

The Adopt-a-School program is a partnership between the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) and the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce. The program partners SBCUSD schools with local businesses and institutions to create opportunities for student success.

Among the many educational programs Bonnie Oehl offers is the Dual Immersion program. Dual Immersion teaches English to native Spanish speakers and Spanish to native English speakers so all students in the program can become bilingual.

Thinkwise has agreed to support Bonnie Oehl’s efforts to recognize student achievement in academics and attendance through awards ceremonies and possible field trips.

Bonnie Oehl Elementary School is located at 2525 Palm Avenue in Highland.
