On behalf of the staff of San Bernardino City Unified School District, we extend our appreciation for your dedication to improving the academic achievement of our students. Volunteers and visitors play an important and valuable role in our District. Students, teachers, staff, parents/guardians, and the community benefit from the work of individuals like you, who freely share their talents and resources. As a volunteer and or visitor, you not only serve the needs of students, but you also provide a vital link between the school and the community. Students, their families, and the community will view you as an ambassador of the school and District. You will be able to share the many positive things that students and staff are doing.
Important Volunteer Update - 2026-2027
Due to updated California laws including Assembly Bill (AB) 506 and Senate Bill (SB) 848, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, all new and returning volunteers must complete the District’s annual approval process before volunteering. Requirements include submitting a Raptor application, completing a Live Scan background check, California Mandated Reporter Training, District Volunteer Onboarding, and providing current TB documentation. Volunteers may begin serving only after receiving official District approval. Please check in with your corresponding school sites for more details or contact the Family Engagement Office at 909-880-4057.
