What is Expanded Learning?
Formerly known as CAPS, Expanded Learning, a department of San Bernardino City Unified School District, Student Services Division, is the before- and after-school program for the school district. Expanded Learning is committed to providing children in our communities with high-quality, no-cost programs beyond the traditional school day. These opportunities empower students to strengthen academic skills, grow socially and personally, build independence and self-worth, and explore their interests and talents in a safe, supportive environment. Through engaging experiences, they connect with their communities and the wider world, preparing them to reach their full potential in school and in life.
Sunrise and after-school programs are available at all SBCUSD elementary, middle, and high schools

Enroll Your Child
- Login to the Aeries Parent Portal.
- Go to Student Information and Click on EXL Registration
- Click Add & choose program(s) interested in
- DONE! An Expanded Learning site leader will make contact with you in the month of May regarding start date.
1. Inicie sesión en el Portal para Padres de Aeries.
2. Vaya a Información del Estudiante y haga clic en Registro de EXL.
3. Haga clic en Agregar y elija el(los) programa(s) de su interés.
