The Secondary Social Science / History Department serves as a liaison to the district's middle and high schools to provide information so each student is provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to live in a contemporary society.

Information about the past and its relation to the present is essential if individuals are to understand the nature and beginnings of societies and cultures.

Problem-solving and decision-making activities require students to develop a wide-range of critical thinking skills to be part of a global society.

It is the goal of this department to provide the knowledge and opportunity to learn about the past that may impact the future.
