San Bernardino High School

SBHS students take career pathway courses to teach students how to create and follow their own “pathway” to the ultimate goal of education: a high-paying, purpose-filled, life-enhancing career. The pathways show students how to succeed on their own path by providing high-quality academics, experiences, and leadership opportunities while still in high school. Pathway selection is very similar to a college major.

Career Pathways were implemented in SBCUSD and at SBHS in an effort to make students’ academic learning in math, ELA, social studies, etc more obviously useful towards improving our students’ lives after high school. Pathways provide hands-on learning, financial skills, improved personal habits, and so much more that are exclusively taught in the pathway classes.
