TRANSPORTATION 

The Transportation Pathway in collaboration with San Bernardino Valley College Heavy/Medium Duty Truck Technology program offers students high technology training and skills that may be utilized for employment after certification completion. The curriculum includes repair, operations and maintenance of heavy-duty industrial truck engines and fuel injection systems, hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems, anti-lock and computer controlled braking systems, truck suspension and steering components, plus hands-on experience with automatic transmission operation, construction, service ad overhaul procedures. Students will collaborate and work on troubleshooting and diagnostic solutions to real world problems mentored by our local business partners.

ART AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION

The Art and Visual Communication pathways take students from traditional art education and elevates them into Applied Arts. Our pathways focus on Career skills both art and non-art at the same time to help our students become developed for many career choices and scenarios. Students will obtain skills in art, general knowledge about how a business functions and how to work collaboratively and for a client.

PLTW Biomedical Sciences

PLTW Biomedical Sciences uses the APB Approach (activity, project, problem based) to engage students in thinking critically, synthesizing comprehensively, and exploring comprehensively, and exploring collaboratively. In this series of courses, students gain mastery of important science standards, medical professionalism and systematic concepts, while building transportable skills that include problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and ethical reasoning and mindset. The APB approach includes student-centered learning, the teacher as facilitator, real-world application, meaningful feedback and assessment, and a scaffold of learning experiences across curriculums to teach students how to solve problems and create innovative solutions.

HOSPITALITY

The Hospitality Pathway teaches students the fundamentals of the hospitality industry. It teaches them sanitation skills, safety skills, basic culinary skills and baking skills. Skills developed in this pathway are critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, communication, positive work ethic and other important skills that can be expanded on to hold a career in the food industry and many others. Students have the opportunity to learn management skills while working hands-on in the classroom coffee shop. Students learn valuable customer service skills to work within any industry within an inclusive learning environment.
