Libraries
Categorical Programs offers support and oversight to school libraries throughout the District. Our libraries are designed to teach students the lifelong skills they will need to find materials in a library and the tools they will need to access and evaluate information.
Elementary school libraries are managed by Library Assistants, while middle and high school libraries are managed by certificated Teacher-Librarians. The Categorical Programs Office coordinates access to library databases; facilitates the development of the District Library Plan and the annual 100 Best Books list; provides an annual in-service for elementary Library Assistants; and dispenses technical support for all libraries.
