Advanced Learners
Elementary Instruction and Secondary Education work directly with schools to address the educational needs of gifted and high-achieving students, kindergarten through grade 12. Advanced Learners are those students who exhibit high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area, possess an unusual capacity for leadership, or excel in a specific academic field.
Students qualify for a variety of programs through evaluation that may include:
- Nonverbal Intelligence Testing (NNAT3)
- California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress scores (CAASPP)
- District Assessments
- Observation
- Student work samples
