ABOUT EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
Educational Services is responsible for all aspects of teaching and learning in the District.
The ten departments ensure implementation of all instructional programs and help to provide high-quality, innovative and equitable educational experiences for all of our District students.
In addition, Educational Services provides targeted professional development for administration, teachers, classified, parents and students.
It is our mission to maximize student learning, eliminate the achievement gap, and include inclusive, equitable classrooms and schools throughout the District.

The Accountability and Educational Technology (AET) Department is committed to providing accurate data and effective educational technology support in a timely manner to help positively impact student achievement.
Advanced Learners
Advanced Learners
Elementary Instruction and Secondary Education work directly with schools to address the educational needs of gifted and high-achieving students, kindergarten through grade 12. Advanced Learners are those students who exhibit high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area, possess an unusual capacity for leadership, or excel in a specific academic field.

The Charter School Operations Department is the liaison between the SBCUSD Board of Education and the 12 charter schools it has authorized.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. STEAM education is an integrated approach focused around real-world context and 21st century skills that fosters problem solving, inquiry, creativity, and innovation in order to prepare students for both college and career.
