SBCUSD Opens New Páxam Páxam Welcome Center to Support Families and Strengthen Community Connections

SBCUSD celebrated the official grand opening of the Páxam Páxam Welcome Center on October 29, a new resource hub designed to help families navigate school enrollment and connect with support services that encourage student success. The center is located next to the District’s Board of Education building and is part of the District’s ongoing commitment to remove barriers and create welcoming spaces for all families.

Community Sees How SBCUSD Shines During Annual Principal for a Day Event

SBCUSD’s annual Principal for a Day event kicked off with a brief breakfast and orientation on Oct. 23 before more than 70 guest principals traveled to school sites across San Bernardino and Highland.

The event is designed to allow community members from all walks of life and all corners of the District’s boundaries to engage with students, staff and administrators while learning about the daily challenges and triumphs of leading a school. Guests shadowed school leaders as they toured the school campus, visited classrooms, interacted with office staff and more.

68 SBCUSD Schools Earn Awards for Promoting Positive Student Behavior

SBCUSD is celebrating 68 sites that earned a California Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) Implementation Award, including 8 that earned Platinum Awards.

PBIS is a nationally recognized, three-tiered program that equips students with the social skills to respond to situations in a safe, responsible and respectful manner. Staff members teach and model good behavior and provide positive corrections and use restorative justice practices when needed.
