68 SBCUSD Schools Earn Awards for Promoting Positive Student Behavior

SBCUSD is celebrating 68 sites that earned a California Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) Implementation Award, including 8 that earned Platinum Awards.

PBIS is a nationally recognized, three-tiered program that equips students with the social skills to respond to situations in a safe, responsible and respectful manner. Staff members teach and model good behavior and provide positive corrections and use restorative justice practices when needed.

SBCUSD Honors Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley as October Outstanding Community Partner

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) Board of Education presented its October Outstanding Community Partner Award to the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley for providing engaging classroom presentations and hands-on programs that teach kindness, empathy and responsibility toward animals.

The SBCUSD Board also presented the Outstanding Achievement Awards to students, parents and staff of Marshall Elementary School, E. Neal Roberts Elementary School, Golden Valley Middle School and Indian Springs High School (ISHS).

San Bernardino High School Crowns New Miss and Mr. Cardinals in Pageant at Renovated Performing Arts Center

 

San Bernardino High School (SBHS) celebrated tradition, talent and school spirit at the annual Miss and Mr. Cardinal Pageant, held on Sept. 20 in the school’s newly renovated historic theater, now known as the Performing Arts Center.

University of Redlands Partnership Opens High-Tech Mapping Career Pathways for Arroyo Valley High Students

San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) entered into a remarkable partnership with the University of Redlands that will allow qualifying Arroyo Valley High School (AVHS) scholars to enroll in the University of Redlands Dual Credit Program, with all associated academic privileges, at no cost to them and with the ability to take geographic information system (GIS)-related college courses during their regular school day.
