The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is a system made up of several exams, including the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) tests in English and math.

CAASPP scores provide a useful tool for elementary and middle school students and families to measure progress toward college and career readiness*. To get the full benefit of the SBAC tests, students and families should match student CAASPP scores to college and career goals and adjust student effort to reach those goals. (NOTE: This may require doing extra work during weekends, breaks and holidays above and beyond what teachers require for an A in the class.)

To better understand the CAASPP, download the following documents and watch the screencast on what students should do to raise their CAASPP scores to give them the best chance to reach their personal, academic and career goals.
