On Friday, March 2, musician IZ Avila will visit Barton Elementary School and encourage students to embrace creativity as part of the Turnarounds Arts: California program.

Five-time Grammy Award-winning artist IZ Avila has sold more than 40 million records and performed for Barack Obama’s 2013 presidential inauguration and charity events with U2’s Bono and Stevie Wonder. IZ Avila is best known for his live DJ work, including touring with Usher for the last six years.

As part of the Turnaround Arts: California program, artists from all disciplines visit participating schools to mentor students and help them unleash their creative potential.

The event is not open to the public.
