The virtual SBCUSD Holiday Craft & Gift Faire originally scheduled for December 10 has been cancelled.
According to the San Bernardino City Unified School District’s Community Engagement Office, which was organizing the craft faire, there was not enough interest from employees, families, and alumni.
The Community Engagement Office helps to coordinate the Making Hope Happen Foundation, which was scheduled to be this year’s beneficiary of the Craft Faire. Each year, a different SBCUSD-affiliated organization plans the Craft Faire and uses proceeds to award deserving SBCUSD students with scholarships. In the past, organizations ranging from the California School Employees’ Association (CSEA) to the San Bernardino School Managers (SBSM) used the proceeds to award scholarships.
The Making Hope Happen Foundation engages people, builds partnerships, provides leadership, and delivers resources where they are needed to achieve a thriving and innovative community in which every student is a lifelong learner and can be successful in meeting their hopes and aspirations.
Any community member who would like to support scholarships for SBCUSD students can visit https://makinghope.org/ and make a donation.
