Registration for kindergarten and transitional kindergarten in the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) is underway at your local elementary school and Enrollment and Placement Services.
Children who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2020, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2020–2021 school year. Transitional kindergarten (TK) is available for students who will turn 5 years old from September 2 to December 2, 2020.
Transitional kindergarten is a free, half-day program staffed by credentialed teachers who help prepare students for kindergarten by teaching age-appropriate social and academic skills. TK is offered at more than 25 SBCUSD elementary schools.
San Bernardino City Unified School District parents and guardians may call Boundaries at (909) 388-6100 or visit the online School Site Locator to determine their child’s home school.
In addition to completing an enrollment packet, parents and guardians will need photo identification for themselves; proof of address in the form of a current utility bill or affidavit from the property owner; proof of the child’s birthday in the form of a birth certificate, physician or hospital record, baptismal or church certificate, or passport; and the child’s immunization records to register for school. Enrollment packets are available at any SBCUSD elementary school. All documents should be originals, not copies.
For more information, contact Enrollment and Placement Services at (909) 889-7576 or the Welcoming Resource Center, 781A West 2nd Street, San Bernardino.
