At-Risk Students to Receive Home Visits Tuesday, August 27

Operation Student Recovery announcement

WHO: SBCUSD Managers, Superintendent Dr. Dale Marsden, and community leaders 

WHAT: During Operation Student Recovery, San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) managers and community leaders will visit the last-known address of students who have already missed several days of school. The goal is to help students at risk of becoming chronically absent.

WHEN: Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 8 a.m. to 12 noon

WHERE: A brief training will take place at Arroyo Valley High School’s Performing Arts Center, 1881 West Base Line Street in San Bernardino, before teams fan out across the city.

WHY: Data from the September 2018 Operation Student Recovery indicate that 85 percent of students who were contacted returned to school the following day.
