Strategy 5: Network of Alliances and Resources

We will develop districtwide systems that empower departments and school sites to pursue and sustain meaningful networks of alliances and to access resources needed to promote success for all students.

High Expectations for All

Strong partnerships and resources will accelerate the realization of the Community Engagement Plan objectives to propel students forward as productive members of society.

Action Steps:
  1. Create and deploy a framework for mutually beneficial partnerships based on district and community needs.

  2. Develop a system for students to engage in community services and volunteer opportunities.

  3. Create structures for engaging and energizing Hope Makers and SBCUSD Alumni in schools.

  4. Implement or adapt a district needs assessment and evaluation process for measuring the effectiveness of partnerships

  5. Improve communication about and recognition of partnerships and available resources throughout the district and community. 

  6. Lead the establishment of a community-based backbone organization to drive collective impact efforts that address social and economic challenges within the community.

  7. Actively engage district employees in growing the Making Hope Happen Foundation.

  8. Continue to develop Family Engagement Centers as hubs for nurturing partnerships with families at all sites.

  9. Build a forum for sharing solutions and resources across the District.

  10. Implement a (grant development) system of prioritization and establish criteria for resource acquisition & allocation.
