Residents are invited to a free Disaster Prep/Safety Fair at Davidson Elementary on Saturday, September 16 from 10 to 2 p.m.

“Preparing for emergencies as individuals, a family, and a community is the best way to survive any large disaster,” said SBCUSD Safety & Emergency Manager
Eric Vetere. “It doesn’t matter if it is the tragic hurricanes we’ve seen recently or a wildfire or earthquake here in California, the more prepared we are as a community, the more likely we are to recover quickly.”

That is the driving force behind the September 16 Disaster Prep/Safety Fair jointly sponsored by the Muscupiabe & Blair Park Neighborhood Associations, Davidson Elementary School, and the SBCUSD Office of Emergency Services.

Local residents are invited to experience the Earthquake Simulator, CPR training by the American Heart Association, and fire extinguisher training. There will also be lots of opportunities for fun, including lawn games, arts & crafts, free chips and hot dogs cooked by San Bernardino County firefighters, and a chance to win a propane barbecue grill and disaster prep items.

It’s all free, and the fun lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Davidson Elementary School, 2844 Davidson Avenue in San Bernardino. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
