SAN BERNARDINO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PROTECTS ALL STUDENTS AND STAFFThe San Bernardino City Unified School District has launched an independent, multiagency investigation into a racially motivated incident perpetrated against Lankershim Elementary School Principal Crecia Robinson.

The outside investigation was launched on Tuesday, October 2 after an anonymous letter containing a racial slur appeared in the staff room mailbox of another Lankershim Elementary staff member.

This unsettling incident will not be tolerated in our District, said Superintendent Dr. Dale Marsden.

“There is simply no place for hateful actions or bigotry in our schools or anywhere in our District,” Marsden said. “We will not tolerate hate, racism, or toxic behavior that jeopardizes the safety and well-being of our students and staff.”

The District has an expectation that all students and employees adhere to our Nondiscrimination Policies, Board Policy 4030 and Board Policy 5145.3, which prohibit harassment and discrimination.

The District is committed to taking appropriate action based on the outcome of the outside investigation.

Our Affirmative Action Complaint Procedures for investigations of discrimination, harassment, or intimidation complaints call for the confidentiality of all parties. Due to the ongoing investigation there will be no further comment.
