Native Threads owner and CEO Randy Bardwell is the keynote speaker for the fifth annual New Year Gathering Family Night, scheduled for Tuesday, September 25 at 6 p.m. In addition to Bardwell, the only Native American to own a clothing company in the country, the Gathering will feature Native peoples from across the community and the state.

The San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) Title VI American Indian Education program presents the New School Year Gathering Family Night as a way to bring together the community to share the rich cultural traditions of Native Americans.

The Gathering will also feature James Ramos, San Bernardino County Supervisor for the third district; World Champion Native American hoop dancer Terry Goedel, musicians Tracy Lee Nelson and Carlos Reynosa, and Jacque Nunez. Nunez is known for her Journeys to the Past presentations, which take students on a journey through the lifestyle of Native California Indians before the arrival of the Spanish.

The free event is from 6 to 8 p.m. at San Gorgonio High School, 2299 Pacific Street in San Bernardino. Parking will be available in the west lot.
