Dear San Bernardino City Unified School District Families,
The District is establishing ways to provide continuity of learning for our students during the school closures related to the COVID -19 Pandemic. One of our goals is to connect students and their teachers with remote access to one another to ensure the best possible learning opportunities and the least amount of possible exposure. SBCUSD will enable Google email (Gmail) for all students after spring break on April 6, 2020. K-8 students will be able to send and receive email in an environment that does not allow access from outside the district e-mail domain. High school student accounts will allow access from outside the district e-mail domain so that they can connect with colleges where they may be participating in dual enrollment courses, employers and potential colleges they would like to attend.
The District is committed to protecting the privacy and safety of its students in online environments. Parents should be aware that there are no ads in Google for Education (G Suite) services, and students’ personal information will not be used to create ad profiles for targeted advertising. Additionally, parents and students should be aware that the District will monitor student e-mail and G Suite use, and students are expected to follow all aspects of the
SBCUSD Student Technology Responsible Use Agreement when using G Suite or any other District technology service.
