Keeping Schools Safe

The safety of students is our number priority here at the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Below are a some important safety tips to remember for our parents and students that range from everyday routines to in the event of an emergency.

Throughout the school year, a student's school may experience certain campus procedures in the event of a non- and/or real emergency situation. These procedures are a "Lockdown" and "Lockout." To get familiar with these terms, please view the office SBCUSD Lockdown/Lockout Frequently Asked Questions.

Things to Remember During an Emergency

During an emergency, situations become too chaotic that we often forget the procedures in place to keep not only our students safe, but the community too. Please read through the SBCUSD Six Things To Remember During an Emergency to get familiar with our procedure in the event of an emergency.

New Communications Tools to Stay Informed During an Emergency

Our district has made a commitment to keep our students, parents, and community informed in non- and or real emergency situations. The District has the ability to send quick phone calls, texts, emails, electronic flyer via Peachjar and mobile app notifications. Also, remember that SBCUSD is also on social via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep your informed of all things about the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Please be sure to view the SBCUSD Communication Tools Flyer for more information of what you can do to "stay connected."
