Mayra Ceballos is a parent in the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD). She is also an alumna of SBCUSD, having attended Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School and Arroyo Valley High School.

Mayra attended Inland Empire Job Corps, San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) and UC Riverside, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Mayra is currently at California State University, San Bernardino completing an Education Specialist degree in school psychology.

Mayra has worked in education for several years, tutoring, mentoring and teaching professional skills and career explorations to high school students. In addition, she has served on a variety of parent advisory committees.

Mayra’s interests revolve around:

• Fortifying the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, or the MTSS, process to truly support all students
• Empowering parents to become informed advocates for their children’s education while becoming allies of their children’s educators
• Increase the number of students who are college ready as evidenced by A-G achievement and SAT scores.
