APEX Boot Camp
APEX Boot Camp - English, Math, History, and Science

Boot Camp will Begin Feb 13th @ 8 am - 12 pm

University Tutor Scholarship Opportunity
University Tutor holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write a short essay in response to a monthly prompt. The submitted essays are reviewed by University Tutor staff at the end of the month and one winner is chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. NOTE:  Students will be called in the order of when their form was submitted (time and date stamped electronically).  Sierra High Counselors reserve the right to move an Appointment Request ahead of others in the event there is a crisis or emergency.

  • Are you a Senior? Class of 2017 or 2018?

 

  • Have you earned at least 20 credits from Sierra High School?

 

  • Have you passed CAHSEE English? (to challenge any ENGLISH course)

 

  • Do you have 10 days of perfect attendance before Challenge by

    Examination date?

     

  • Are you interested in challenging by examination a class you have

    previously taken and failed (no senior classes unless previously

      taken)?

 
If you have answered all of the questions above with a YES, then you are

 eligible to sign up to CHALLENGE BY EXAMINATION!

  • Your Counselor will verify that you are eligible to take the test based on credits and above guidelines.

 

  • Approved students will be given study guides for the test chosen one week prior to test administration.

 

  • You may challenge 1 course by examination per 6 week block.

 

  • CHALLENGE BY EXAMINATION is offered 5x per year. (semester 1-5)

 

  • Challenge by Examination will be open to interested Class of 2017 students between January – April 2017

 

SEMESTER 1 CHALLENGE DATES TO KNOW

  • August 8-10:                 Counselors announce to students
  • August 10:                    Students deadline to sign up
  • August 11-12:               Counselors check eligibility and notify students ( Eligible         students submitted to APEX Coordinator)
  • August 15-16:               Distribute study guide via Gmail (Gmail required) 
  • August 17-Sep 1:          Students work on study guide   
  • August 31:                     Students CHALLENGE COURSE BY EXAMINATION with APEX teacher
