Categorical Programs at the elementary (grades K-6) levels assist student achievement by providing additional and higher levels of support to enhance core curriculum instruction.
These programs are designed to assure success in the student's efforts to meet State and District academic standards by providing students appropriate additional materials and offering extra time and assistance when needed.
Categorical funding also provides school personnel with professional staff development. A parent component provides parents with effective strategies to assist their children at home.
Single Plan for Student Achievement
The Single Plan for Student Achievement, developed by the school staff and School Site Council, outlines how the school community will assist in student achievement using the funding that is allocated from State and Federal resources.
Student achievement is measured by results of District reading / language arts and mathematics assessments and STAR results, including the California Standards Tests as well as Adequate Yearly Progress targets.
