SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER
Our core responsibility – interacting with student, staff and school administration to ensure, within our resources, to have a safe educational environment. The San Bernardino City Unified School District Police Department provides one School Resource Officer (SRO) to our five comprehensive high schools. Every high school has one Police Officer and six Campus Security Officers assigned to the high school campuses, with two Campus Security Officers assigned to every middle school campus.
The San Bernardino City Unified School District Police Officers assigned to campuses pull double-duty, acting as the resident law enforcement official, and regularly participating in self-initiated campus incident and student interaction. This “specialized” policing allows students, staff, administration and our community another opportunity to understand and appreciate their relationship with those sworn to protect them.
