Microsoft Word 2010
This course covers computer word processing using the Microsoft Word 2010 program.  Knowledge of the keyboard is recommended.  This is an in depth course for Microsoft Word 2010 using three different Level books .    A Flash Drive is required for this class.

The prerequisite for these classes is Microsoft Office Suite

In Level 1, you will be introduced to Word and the new Office 2010 Ribbon interface. Topics introduced include working with text, using proofreading tools, creating bulleted and numbered lists, and more.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use and customize the Ribbon
  • Use the Quick Access and Mini toolbars
  • Type a professional business letter
  • Set AutoFormat As You Type Options
  • Work with proofreading tools
  • Work with hyperlinks and bookmarks
  • Create appropriate report formats
  • Apply borders and shading
  • Insert a table in a document
  • Perform calculations in tables

In Level 2, you will work with tables, using mail merge, newsletter columns, WordArt and clip art, document themes, styles, picture editing, footnotes and endnotes, templates, and more.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Create, edit, and format documents
  • Create mail merge documents 
  • Create, sort, and edit tables
  • Use section and column breaks, and headers and footers
  • Create tables of contents
  • Use Track Changes
  • Set passwords
  • Create and edit macros and forms

In Level 3, you will create a table of contents and an index, create headers and footers, work with Track Changes, create macros and forms, use digital signatures, and integrate Word with other Office applications.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Create a table of contents
  • Use cross-references
  • Track changes to documents
  • Combine and compare documents
  • Use Word’s file compatibility features
  • Mark a document as final
  • Customize Word options
  • Create and run macros
  • Embed and link Excel objects in Word
  • Create PowerPoint presentations from Word outlines


The day class will be Monday 9:15am to 10:00 am and Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 am to 10:20 am

The night class will be Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 pm to 9:00 pm
