Department Philosophy
In educational terms, Equity is the principle of altering current practices and perspectives to teach for social transformation and to promote equitable learning outcomes for targeted and underachieving student groups.

Equity is the approach. Equality is the goal. Education is our civil right.

Vision
The vision of the Department of Equity and Targeted Student Achievement is for all students to receive rigorous, high quality academic instruction that enables and prepares students to access higher levels of education, and to cultivate a philosophy of lifelong learning.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Equity and Targeted Student Achievement is to close the Achievement Gap, utilizing the foundational elements of Staff Development, Parent and Community Involvement, Progress Monitoring, and Promotion of a Districtwide emphasis on Diversity and Cultural Proficiency which is reflected in all District programs.
