Dear Arroyo Valley High School Parents and Guardians:
I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of excellence that has produced so many outstanding graduates. I am elated to bring my passion and skills as an educational leader to your child’s school and to partner with you to ensure the academic and social success of your child.
I bring to Arroyo Valley High School more than twenty years of educational experience, including five years teaching Spanish in the San Bernardino City Unified School District and fifteen years as a high school vice principal. My most recent administrative assignment was at Pacific High School, where I spent eleven successful years as administrative coach of instructional improvement.
During these past few weeks, I have had many interactions with parents, teachers, and students. From these conversations, it is clear there is a collegial partnership between all stakeholders to provide the best possible academic experience for our students. I look forward to fostering these relationships and working with teachers and staff to provide a world-class educational experience for every child.
As your new principal, my main goal is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment. Working together with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best.
Along with our dedicated Arroyo Valley High staff, I will work hard to continue our legacy of success by strengthening relationships with all stakeholders. We will focus on providing students with 21st-Century skills, using data to shape instruction, consistent implementation of the Common Core State Standards to increase student academic achievement, and providing exciting and rigorous enrichment opportunities for students.
As your principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet! I look forward to working with you and your child.
Dr. Lissette Magana, Ed.D.
