Arrowhead Elementary School is proud to offer the High Intensity Language Training (HILT) Program. This program is designed for students whose first language is another language other than English and who are English Language Learners. Students who are selected for this program receive additional support throughout the day in an effort to scaffold the English language and help students access the core curriculum.

There is an all day kindergarten component to the program which allows eligible students who are ready to begin an all day academic program. This kindergarten program uses a combination of specifically trained teaching strategies to meet the needs of the students by emphasizing key vocabulary in all subject areas in an effort to help students access the core curriculum. Half of the day is spent in a regular kindergarten classroom and the second half of the day is spent reinforcing the language skills being taught through enriching academic activities such as art, music, movement, and technology. 

Certificated teachers, language tutors, and aides all work together to provide additional language support services to students in the HILT program. If you are interested in learning more about the HILT program or having your child attend, please contact the Enrollment Center at 909-891-1000.
