Welcome to Mr. Scoggin’s fourth grade classes in Math and Science at Rodriguez Prep Academy!
Kids in these classes can expect the following:
A loving and respectful environment where each person is valued in the highest way.
Hard work that leads to important learning, which produces both pride and satisfaction.
Daily homework, Monday through Thursday, 20 to 30 minutes in duration (to be coordinated with Ms. Nguyen, who teaches Language Arts and Social Studies).
It’s important that every student do his/her homework every day.
High expectations in both
and academics , and encouragement and support to meet and even exceed those expectations every day in every way. behavior
Having taught fifth grade for nearly 18 years, I have a good sense of what students need to know and be able to do in math and science by the end of fourth grade.
Having studied at the university and in graduate schools for about 12 years, I also have a good sense of what it takes to be successful in college. WE’LL BE GETTING READY FOR BOTH FIFTH GRADE AND COLLEGE!
I’ll be counting on every parent to support us throughout the year in this endeavor.
No matter what your background is, your support makes a difference in the level of success your child achieves. That means making sure they’re in school on time every day, get a good night’s sleep (8-10 hours), play hard in a safe place for at least an hour, get their homework done, and are encouraged to work hard and do the right thing in school every day.
My greatest joy is in your kids’ successes in both academics and behavior.
It’s a privilege to be in their service, and yours, this school year!
