Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS)
The Youth Behavior Survey (YRBS) is administered every two years to students in grades 7-12, with parent permission. The YRBS focuses on health risk behaviors that contribute to mortality, morbidity or social problems for youth and adults in the United States. The priority risk behaviors fall into six categories:

  • Unintentional Injury and Violence-Related Behaviors
  • Tobacco Use
  • Alcohol and Other Drug Use
  • Sexual Risk Behaviors
  • Physical Inactivity
  • Unhealthy Weight Control Behaviors
The YRBS results help focus efforts on the health education topics that are most needed by our students. We also know that a student participating in unhealthy habits and risk behaviors can adversely affect their academic achievement.
