Student Progress and Program Completion
Student Progress
Communication between school and home is essential to adequately support student achievement. Students receive a daily report that documents their social and academic behaviors. Parents are asked to review and discuss their student’s daily progress. As a confirmation that these conversations are taking place at home, students are required to return their cards with parent signature every day.

Program Completion
The primary goal of Community Day School is to equip students with the skills to be successful both in a general education setting and within the community.

As students progress through the system, they transition from highly structured supervision when they first enter, to a gradual release of responsibility to the students. This transition is intended to prepare a student for re-entry to the general education environment.

In accordance with California Education Code Section 48663, students enrolled in Community Day School are required to attend school six hours per day. Community Day School has no late start or early release (minimum) days.
